This is a rare opportunity to own a high-impact role, lead a growing team, and work closely with key public sector clients on major infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities: Lead legal, compliance, and commercial strategy across a major rail franchise. Be the go-to advisor for senior execs on contract risk, governance, and disputes. Build a small but mighty Legal & Commercial team. Shape supplier relationships across 400 contracts. Drive negotiation support on key projects (e.g., new fleet procurement). Skills and Experience Required: Qualified solicitor (England and Wales) with 4 years PQE and strong commercial contracting experience. Background in sectors such as rail, rolling stock, mobility, infrastructure, or defence contracting preferred. Experience negotiating high-value contracts and advising on complex compliance issues. Desire and ability to step into people management; prior leadership not essential. Strong communication, stakeholder management, and risk advisory skills.
