Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Project Manager to lead and manage software development projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of various project management methodologies, including SAFe and Waterfall, and have experience with software development life cycles (SDLC). This role requires excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
Responsibilities
* Lead the planning and implementation of software projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
* Manage project scope, schedule, and resources while effectively communicating progress to stakeholders.
* Facilitate requirements gathering sessions to define project specifications and deliverables.
* Oversee user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure that the final product meets user needs and expectations.
* Utilise project management software such as Jira, TFS, or Microsoft Project to track progress and manage tasks.
* Implement best practices in release management and disaster recovery planning.
* Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
* Conduct analysis of project outcomes and prepare reports for senior management.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement through test-driven development and agile methodologies like Kanban.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in project management within a software development environment.
* Strong knowledge of SDLC processes and methodologies such as SAFe, Waterfall, and Agile.
* Proficiency in project management tools including Jira, TFS, Microsoft Project, Visio, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
* Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS is advantageous.
* Excellent analytical skills with the ability to gather requirements effectively.
* Strong leadership qualities with a focus on team collaboration and motivation.
* Exceptional communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement and negotiation.
* Ability to manage time efficiently while juggling multiple projects simultaneously.
* Knowledge of SQL and Oracle databases is beneficial for technical discussions related to software functionality.
