As a member of the Outpatients pharmacy team, you will contribute to the provision of a range of pharmaceutical services, including issuing prescriptions, providing advice where appropriate, and working alongside the Outpatient Pharmacy team to ensure all pharmacy duties are carried out in accordance with legal and relevant clinical guidelines, as well as departmental procedures to meet customer needs.
You will be required to deputise in the absence of the Superintendent Pharmacist, demonstrating strong professional leadership and decision-making skills, as well as line management of junior staff.
Main duties of the job
1. Support the Outpatient multi-disciplinary teams and Trust services with effective pharmaceutical care and intervention for patients, particularly regarding medicines supply and management.
2. Monitor key quality and performance indicators, service pressures, and recommend or implement actions to address them. Report on workforce requirements to meet service demand.
3. Assist the Superintendent Pharmacist in leading, developing, delivering, and evaluating the clinical pharmacy service.
4. Manage designated staff within the Outpatient pharmacy team, including supervision, attendance, performance management, and staff training needs.
5. Act as the Responsible Pharmacist for the service as required.
