Clinical Typist

Job overview
Applicants must be 18 years old or over.
We are currently looking to appoint a Clinical Typist to work in The Den within the Family Care Division.
The successful candidate must be customer service, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organisation skills and an ability to work under pressure are essential requirements, together with great attention to detail to ensure work is completed accurately.
To be successful in the role you will possess IT skills, GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalent), and have relevant office/secretarial experience. You must have effective communication skills and be adaptable to meet the service needs.
Knowledge of medical terminology, customer care and previous NHS experience are also desirable.
Main duties of the job
The main emphasis of this role is to provide comprehensive typing and clerical cover in support of Consultants and Junior Medical Staff in the Child Health Department.
Duties will include audio typing, general word processing tasks, clerical tasks including filing, photocopying and processing post, answering telephone calls, and retrieving/returning patient records.
