The opportunity has arisen for this vacancy within the Housing and Property Service, due to the substantive postholder's secondment to the Strategic Director role.
We are inviting applications from passionate and forward-thinking Heads of Service for an exciting opportunity to step into the role of Assistant Director for Housing & Community Safety. In line with the Competence and Conduct Standard, which introduces a sector-wide, outcome-based framework for those working in social housing applicants will have gained an applicable housing management qualification or be willing to start working towards one by October 2026.
This pivotal position will provide strategic leadership and oversight across all areas of housing management including supported housing, income collection, driving excellence and ensuring compliance with the Regulator of Social Housing requirements, in addition to homelessness, temporary accommodation, and enforcement services.
You will provide visible leadership, ensuring the service communications effectively with internal and external stakeholders, building and maintaining strong relationships. As we strive to achieve our ambition of a C1 rating with the Regulator of Social Housing, we are seeking a leader who can champion a person-centred approach, inspiring teams to deliver high quality services with care and compassion to residents in their homes and the wider community.
This role will also play a key part in supporting our ambitious transformation programme, helping to shape a more seamless, responsive, and impactful customer journey.
