Payroll & HR Assistant, Part Time, Carlisle Hours: 30 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM) Flexible working arrangements will be considered About This Opportunity Due to sustained business expansion, our client is seeking an experienced Payroll & HR Assistant to join their small, friendly HR team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career in a supportive environment. Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting payroll operations for a busy workforce of over 1,500 employees across numerous company departments, while providing essential administrative support to the HR department. Key Responsibilities Payroll Operations: Support monthly payroll processing using payroll software systems Conduct thorough verification of payslips against submissions HR Administrative Support: Handle confidential correspondence and documentation Process reference requests with appropriate discretion Coordinate internal training programmes and events Manage office supplies, filing systems, and document scanning Provide general administrative assistance to the HR team as required Essential Skills & Experience Previous payroll experience or relevant training Experience with payroll software systems Background in HR administration or related field Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with complete discretion Strong attention to detail with excellent accuracy under pressure Outstanding organisational and time management abilities Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel and Outlook) Personal Attributes: Exceptional integrity and professional discretion Collaborative team player with positive attitude Ability to maintain composure and deliver results under tight deadlines Strong interpersonal skills with colleagues at all levels Comprehensive Benefits Package Annual Leave: 30 days including Bank Holidays, plus birthday leave Health & Wellbeing: Healthcare cash plan, free flu vaccinations, eyecare vouchers Financial Benefits: Competitive pension scheme, life cover Lifestyle Perks: high street retail discounts, cycle-to-work scheme Career Development: Internal training programmes Recognition: Staff referral scheme with rewards What We Offer Competitive hourly pay depending on exp Part time hours to suit you - around 30 hours a week Supportive team environment with opportunities for growth Varied role with exposure to multiple HR functions Competitive salary appropriate for entry level Opportunity to develop your career in HR Location Carlisle - Part Time up to 30 hours, Flexible hours to suit.
