The AHP team at Pulse is seeking an experienced Speech & Language Therapist to join our specialist 18-bed rehabilitation centre, where we provide innovative and ongoing support to help individuals thrive after a brain injury. Our beautiful grounds are designed to offer additional therapeutic value, creating a serene environment for recovery. We treat a range of brain injuries sustained through trauma, illness, substance abuse, and more, helping our patients meet their personal goals. Both part-time and full-time hours are available.
Your main responsibilities as a Speech and Language Therapist:
You will work autonomously as a speech and language therapist within a multidisciplinary team. You will assess how a person’s communication impacts their daily life and provide appropriate interventions. You will collaborate with the person and their social network to overcome barriers and problem-solve. You will develop and implement communication management plans and rehabilitation, seeking specialist assessments as needed. You will provide training to staff and the social networks of our service users. You will play an integral role in service and organisational develop.
What we are looking for in a Speech and Language Therapist:
* HCPC registered.
* Understanding of mental health in children, ACEs, trauma, and the impact of abuse and mental health difficulties on child development, attachment, and behaviour.
* Experience working with children and young people in challenging contexts.
