PE Global is recruiting a Machining Technician for our manufacturing client in Peterborough. The role is an initial 12-month contract & the rate for this role is £18.00 PAYE or £24.43 Umbrella p/h. Responsibilities: • Carry out a variety of machining tasks to support current and new Research & Development programmes • Operate conventional manual machinery including lathes, milling machines, grinding and boring machines • Read and interpret engineering drawings and follow engineers’ instructions accurately • Produce precision components to tight deadlines and high quality standards • Use measuring equipment such as vernier callipers, depth gauges and thread gauges • Adhere to all company processes including Safety, Standard Work and Quality • Maintain good housekeeping standards within the work area • Work collaboratively with machining engineers, coordinators and wider team members Requirements: • Proven machining background with strong fundamentals in machining processes • Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings • Experience using conventional machining equipment • Competent using PC systems, including Microsoft Office 365 and basic Excel • Self-motivated with strong teamwork and problem-solving skills • Good written and verbal communication skills • Adaptable and positi...
