Role Details

* This is a part-time position, working an average of 25 hours per week, 15:00 – 20:00, over 5 days, on a shift basis (including early starts, late finishes, and weekends).
* You must be able to arrange your own transport to ensure timely arrival for early and late shifts.
* Lone working is a part of this role.
* You will be required to successfully pass a medical, as all offers are subject to passing a safety critical medical.
* This role includes a compulsory 5-day Dispatch training course at our Stratford Academy, followed by a final assessment.
* Candidates will be subject to a Right to Work check & DBS check for this position
* You must be 18 years of age or older to apply for this position
* Salary: This role offers structured pay progression based on length of service:
o 0–6 months: £23,558
o 6–12 months: £25,435
o 12–24 months: £26,471
o 24+ months: £29,429
o The actual salary you receive will be pro-rated, based on your part‑time hours.

Join Our Team as a Customer Service Hybrid (Part Time) at Diss Station.

As a Customer Service Hybrid (Part Time) at Greater Anglia, you will serve as the friendly face of our organisation, playing a vital role in ensuring a positive travel experience for our passengers.Full training provided and uniform provided.



Key Responsibilities

* Provide exceptional customer service by meeting and greeting customers, selling tickets, and answering inquiries with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
* Assist customers in using ticket machines and educate them on new ticketing technologies such as smart cards and mobile apps.
* Oversee day-to-day platform operations, ensuring smooth travel for all customers, including supporting mobility-impaired individuals.
* Offer support during disruptions by assisting customers and maintaining effective communication with Drivers and Conductors.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations by reporting faults and hazards, maintaining a clean and tidy station, and occasionally working alone
* Assisting passengers with additional needs, providing proactive assistance to customers on and off trains, offering guidance and reassurance to help them travel confidently.
* Comply with safety regulations, reporting faults and hazards as necessary, as you will be responsible for the safe and punctual dispatch of trains. You’ll be invited to a 5-day Dispatch course.
* Collaborate with Drivers and Conductors to ensure smooth communication and service.

With a team of around 3,000 colleagues, we operate 134 stations throughout Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, and Suffolk. Greater Anglia also operate Stansted Express services between London Liverpool Street and Stansted Airport.

Roles on the railway are very varied with everything possible from train driving, customer service, being involved with engineering, working in our control room or being part of the HR, finance, marketing, safety, train planning, or communications teams.
