Job Description
New Directions are working with a Primary School based in Bradford that is currently looking for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to work on a full-time, temporary basis from September 2025, supporting students with additional learning needs. The school is looking for someone experienced working both one-to-one and in group settings to support students with both SEND and SEMH.
1. Experience of working with students with SEND or SEMH.
2. Experience of working in a school environment supporting students with their education
3. Providing students with individualised learning plans
4. Monitoring and reporting student progress
5. Supporting students in developing their self-esteem and independence
6. Supporting qualified teachers to prepare lesson plans and organising materials for each lesson
7. Supporting teachers with organising and delivering learning activities
8. Creating a positive and engaging learning environment to meet individual needs
9. Following the correct school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and behaviour management
Essential Skills
10. Previous experience of working with students with special needs
11. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
12. Empathy and patience, and the ability to work as part of a team
