Main Purpose of the Role
Drive the development and evolution of our systems engineering capability as we scale our portfolio. You will shape how system behaviours, requirements and interfaces are defined, validated and communicated across teams. This role combines hands-on systems development work with genuine influence – you will help set engineering standards, improve clarity across teams and ensure our products are robust, secure and deliver real value to our customers.
Key Responsibilities of the role:
* Lead the definition of system behaviours, interfaces and requirements for both new development and enhancement of existing products.
* Develop system architectures using model-based systems engineering approaches.
* Partner with teams to align on system intent and translate high-level concepts into clear, testable technical definitions and requirements.
* Develop traceability and V&V of requirements for our products.
* Contribute to architectural discussions and influence early-stage decisions with a systems thinking perspective.
* Build and maintain system documentation and models, including behavioural diagrams and structure definitions.
* Help steer wider engineering capability by identifying improvement opportunities and shaping the long-term systems engineering strategy.
Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications
* Solid background in systems engineering for delivering complex products.
* Experience using model-based systems engineering approaches.
* Proven ability to turn broad concepts, stakeholder needs and partial information into clear, structured technical requirements and system behaviours by applying systems thinking.
* Strong requirements engineering skills such as decomposition and refinement.
* Experience contributing to architectural discussions and shaping design decisions.
* Degree level qualification in STEM subject or equivalent professional experience.
Desirable Experience
* Secure by design understanding or previous experience within security aware environments.
* Experience using agile techniques.
* Use of tools such as GitLab or Jira.
* Experience in SysML and tools used for model-based systems engineering.
