Spacecraft Engineering and Operations Placement (12 months) – Internship opportunity with Airbus Defence and Space.

Responsibilities
* Rotate through up to 5 assignments within the Space Directorate over a one-year placement.
* Gain experience in a variety of technical areas in the Space Directorate;
* Be exposed to different task types in a given area (e.g., analysis of spacecraft/ground sub-systems, report writing, anomaly investigation);
* Develop insight into the range of technical activities conducted in the company;
* Identify future interests and contribute to project work in a quality company that supports professional development.
* Representative assignment examples include: Ultra High Frequency (UHF) sub-system analysis and future operation; Telemetry analysis and software development; Routine operations assessment and improvement; Recovery procedure writing and validation.
Requirements
* Open to Undergraduates only; must be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please indicate graduation date on your application.
* Application should include a CV and a Cover Letter outlining motivation and suitability.
* Must be studying towards a Science, Maths or Engineering degree.
* Interest in Space; ability to use varied software packages; preferably experience with Python.
* Good written and verbal communication; ability to work as a team player.
* Security: You will be subject to BPSS; UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control may be required depending on the role.

About the Company
Airbus Defence and Space is involved in space projects with a focus on geostationary communications satellites and low Earth orbit missions. The Space Directorate offers experience across multiple engineering departments, including Space Engineering, Payload Engineering, Ground Engineering, Spacecraft Operations, and Flight Dynamics. This placement sits within the Secure Comms organisation of the CIS (Communications, Intelligence & Security) business line.
