The role
Looking for a Buyer to join our Stoke-on-Trent office, focusing on purchasing materials in line with specification and budgets. The role will preferably suit a buyer with experience in a similar role or with general joinery knowledge.
Key responsibilities
1. Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure materials purchased are in line with project requirements.
2. Send out enquiries to suppliers and manufacturers.
3. Work closely with design team and delivery team to source best value products in a timely manner.
4. Help further strengthen our Procurement Supply Chain working closely with our Commercial Team of Estimators and Quantity Surveyors.
5. Be prepared to negotiate supplier accounts and discuss issues with materials supplied whilst recording supplier performance and giving appropriate feedback.
6. Set up meetings with suppliers on a regular basis with Key accounts and to broaden WJL's supply chain.
What we're looking for
1. Bright, enthusiastic individual that is keen to learn.
2. A genuine interest in construction with a preference for those with some knowledge of carpentry or joinery.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
4. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
5. Confident communicator, both written and verbal.
