Alumni Relations Officer
The salary will be in the region of £33,998 to £36,800 per annum (depending on experience).
Peterhouse is the oldest College in Cambridge (founded in 1284) and is among the smallest (currently 280 undergraduates; 176 postgraduates; 43 Fellows).
The Alumni Relations Officer has the main focus on (but not limit) all alumni events. The holder is expected to be responsible for developing, managing and delivering a diverse and engaging events series helping to develop relationships with the College’s alumni, donors, and friends.
The College’s development activities are essential to its future. The team comprises the Development Director, Deputy Development Director, Prospect Researcher, Gifts Officer, Database Officer and Development Assistant. The Office fundraises for the College, organises a wide range of events and produces publications for alumni.
The successful applicant will be responsible (among other responsibilities) for improving well-established events in response to feedback and propose new events to enliven the core programme. They will also source and book external venues and liaise with their catering teams to coordinate events outside of College, including the management of budgets and guest requirements; work closely with the Peterhouse Catering Team and Conference Team to make all necessary arrangements for internal events. They will deal with all administration and health and safety in relation to the events. The postholder will work with the Development Director and Deputy Development Director to support the new Development strategy; help strategize, design, and deliver bespoke stewardship events.
The successful applicant will have strong demonstrative administrative skills, together with experience of organizing events, together with excellent organisational and communication skills, and be able to demonstrate discretion, professionalism and confidentiality in dealing with a wide range of people from differing backgrounds. The successful applicant must possess the ability to demonstrate initiative, good judgement, self-motivation and excellent team-working skills
