Revolutionizing Healthcare Through Robotics
Atlas Endoscopy is a pioneering medical robotics company on a mission to democratize colonoscopy and expand global healthcare capacity. We are developing the most advanced robotic colonoscopy system, designed to make diagnostic and interventional procedures simpler, less invasive, and more accessible for patients everywhere. Backed by serial entrepreneurs and leading experts in MedTech, our team is driven by one clear purpose: improving patient outcomes through disruptive innovation.
Why Join Us
At Atlas Endoscopy, you won't just be another engineer—you'll be a key player in shaping the electronics backbone of a first-in-class robotic system. You'll join a young, ambitious, and multicultural team working side-by-side with world-class experts, where your decisions will directly influence the success of the product and the future of the company.
If you are passionate about cutting-edge design, thrive in fast-paced environments, and want your work to change lives, this is your chance to step into the end zone of MedTech innovation.
* Type: Full-time, in-person
* Location: Nexus, Leeds, UK
As Senior Electronic Engineer, you will own the design, development, and validation of the electronics powering our robotic colonoscopy platform. Working closely with our R&D Director and cross-disciplinary teams, you'll lead projects that demand technical excellence, creativity, and responsibility.
Your Key Missions:
* Take ownership of electronic subsystem design, from requirements definition to functional integration.
* Design, prototype, and validate PCBs for high-performance medical robotics applications.
* Drive compliance with IEC 60601 standards, ensuring our electronics meet the most stringent requirements in safety and performance.
* Develop and execute verification and validation protocols for electronics, ensuring traceability and regulatory readiness.
* Contribute to risk management activities (ISO 14971), identifying and mitigating hazards at the electronic subsystem level.
* Create and maintain clear, regulatory-compliant documentation—design files, test records, and justifications—for inclusion in the technical file.
* Actively participate in multidisciplinary design reviews, challenging ideas, solving problems, and proposing innovative solutions.
* Lead the transfer of electronic designs to manufacturing partners, ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
* Support the Operations team with fast-turnaround improvements, troubleshooting, and design optimizations for production readiness.
What We're Looking For:
* Right to work in the UK.
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
* Solid hands-on experience in PCB design, prototyping, and validation.
* Experience with digital communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART) and related PCB dsign
* Experience in regulated industries (medical devices, aerospace, automotive, or equivalent).
* Familiarity with compliance testing (EMC/EMI) and best practices for robust design.
* Experience with design tools (Eagle, Altium, or equivalent).
* Strong understanding of embedded hardware/digital electronics.
* Knowledge of IEC 60601 and ISO 14971 frameworks is a plus.
* Knowledge of embedded software principles and experience on micro-controllers are a plus.
Communication & Collaboration
This is not a "back-office" electronics role. You will collaborate daily with software, mechanical, clinical, and quality teams. Clear communication and proactive ownership are essential - you will be expected to defend your ideas, support your colleagues, and drive progress.
At Atlas Endoscopy, you won't just design circuits.
You'll design the future of colonoscopy.
Are you ready to step into the end zone of medical robotics?
