Fawkes & Reece have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Construction Manager for a two year plus project down in Cardiff Bay. My client is a well-established contractor who works alongside and supports Tier one Contractor. They are seeking an experienced Manager to run the external and internal packages on this Project
The role of Construction Manager will suit a candidate who has previously worked for a Tier one contractor overseeing both direct staff and subcontractors on a programme of remedial works to residential apartment blocks, covering both internal and external elements.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing day-to-day site operations and coordinating site activities
Supervising direct labour and subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently
Overseeing remedial works to both internal and external areas of residential buildings
Ensuring works are delivered in line with programme, budget and quality standards
Maintaining full compliance with health and safety legislation and site procedures
Liaising with the client, consultants and project stakeholders
Ensuring accurate site records, reporting and documentation
Required Qualifications & Certifications:
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
CSCS Card (Black or Gold preferred)
First Aid at Work
NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management or equivalent (preferred)
Fire safety awareness or façade/remedial works training would be advantageous
Experience & Knowledge:
Proven experience working as a Site Manager on residential refurbishment/remedial projects
Tier One Contractor background
Strong understanding of construction contracts, particularly including variations, site instructions and programme management
Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and managing direct labour
Good knowledge of UK construction regulations, health & safety legislation, and building standards
Ability to manage quality assurance processes and defect rectification
