About the job: As a Cloud Technical Lead for the SAS Cloud team in SAS's Cloud and Information Services (CIS) division, you will oversee our hosted and remote managed SAS application environments. You will collaborate with customers, analysts, developers, and implementation teams to deliver top-tier SAS services. Your role involves providing technical leadership, guidance, and support during implementation and configuration, ensuring smooth transition to production operations. You will work with a SAS Cloud Customer Success Manager to resolve technical issues and build reliability through defining performance metrics. You will also document processes, automate tasks, and share knowledge to enable global teams to respond efficiently to operational incidents. Additionally, you will mentor team members and work with R&D, Product, Support, and CIS teams to enhance customer satisfaction and service quality, focusing on continuous improvement and automation.
As a Cloud Technical Lead, you will:
1. Provide technical leadership from project initiation through UAT and go-live.
2. Support post go-live projects, upgrades, migrations, and complex problem resolution.
3. Define project scope and mitigate technical blockers to ensure progress.
4. Enhance system stability and operational efficiency.
5. Perform SAS Administrator tasks for complex or urgent issues.
6. Ensure adherence to SAS Cloud standards and best practices.
7. Transfer knowledge to the team regarding customer engagements and technology.
8. Deliver excellent customer service with a focus on continuous improvement.
9. Apply IT Service Management best practices for change, incident, and problem management.
10. Create and maintain documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
11. Manage and monitor container-based applications and develop management tools.
12. Diagnose, document, and resolve system problems.
13. Collaborate with external customers, support teams, and vendors.
Required Qualifications:
* Minimum 5 years programming experience in multiple languages; 2 years in end-user/system admin consulting.
* Equivalent education, training, and experience considered.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
* At least 5 years of technical experience including:
o 2+ years SAS Administration/support
o 2+ years enterprise software/hardware support or consulting
o 2+ years UNIX/Linux support for enterprise applications
* Legal right to work in the UK or Spain.
* Fluency in German and English, spoken and written.
* Curious, passionate, authentic, and accountable personality traits.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, OpenShift).
* Knowledge of containers, orchestration tools, Python, Ansible, Kubernetes, scripting (bash, PowerShell).
* Experience with SAS software, JavaEE web applications, Java, web development, and deployment.
* Ability to travel occasionally within the region.
