This is remote position with a Monday – Friday, day shift. Together, we will become the world's leading cancer reference laboratory.Position Summary:The Clinical Bioinformatics Scientist works within the Clinical Programs group, with a primary focus on processing and analyzing next-generation sequencing data from clinical cohorts and trials. They ensure that the analysis of sequencing runs is performed in a timely and reliable manner, monitoring the clinical data through a series of metrics.Responsibilities:
1. Support the clinical team in analyzing data from clinical projects
2. Ensure samples are processed and results delivered within the target turnaround time (TAT)
3. Technical review of sequencing data
4. Perform non-standard assay processing of clinical samples
5. Lead data transfer activities
6. Attend, prepare and present material at international meetings of relevance, in alignment with company priorities
7. Lead exploratory data analysis to generate publishable material and/or inform R&D efforts regarding the current and future application of MRD assays
8. Follow all written procedures (SOPs) and safety requirements
9. Aid in the preparation of custom reports and analyses for collaborators
Education, Experience & Qualifications
10. MSc or PhD in the field of computational biology, bioinformatics, or applied sciences, or significant industry experience in a relevant field required
11. 2 years of bioinformatics experience in an academic or, preferred, industry setting.
12. Solid understanding of NGS analysis
13. Scientific programming experience in R and/or Python (Essential)
14. Familiarity with data visualization libraries in R/Python such as ggplot2 or matplotlib (Essential)
15. Experience working in a UNIX environment (Essential)
16. Experience with or strong desire to learn next generation sequence data analysis (Essential)
17. Experience with cancer genomics data (Desired)
18. Experience with variant calling and exome/WGS pipelines (Desired)
