Are you an experienced Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer with strong hardware knowledge?
Our client is a leading UK engineering business renowned for precision and innovation in complex mechanical handling and kinetic architecture systems. They deliver world-class projects across Defence, Aerospace, Nuclear, Sports & Entertainment, and Infrastructure.
As a Senior EC&I Engineer, you'll lead the full design lifecycle of critical EC&I systems. This involves defining architectures, specifying equipment, and driving both hardware and software integration. You'll develop PLC/HMI software (Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider) and ensure compliance with demanding standards for bespoke engineered solutions for cranes, lifts, and moving platforms.
This is a position where you'll manage suppliers, support commissioning, and mentor junior engineers, ensuring the delivery of high-integrity control systems.
About You
* Substantial experience delivering EC&I systems in complex or safety-regulated environments, with a strong emphasis on hardware design and integration.
* Proven experience with automated handling systems - cranes, lifts, moving platforms, or similar
* Strong working knowledge of PLC/HMI systems (Siemens S7/TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000, Schneider EcoStruxure) and CAD tools (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
* Solid understanding of control system principles, instrumentation, motor control, and VSDs.
* Ability to manage stakeholders.
* A full UK driving licence.
* Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering, Control & Instrumentation, or a related field.
Key Advantage: Knowledge of Functional Safety standards (e.g., BS EN 61508, BS EN 62061, BS EN 13849).
