Organisation Hampshire Cricket Salary £20,000-£35,000 (FTE £40,000-70,000) Location Utilita Bowl, Botley Road, West End, Southampton, SO30 3XH Contract type Fixed Term (Full time) Closing date 12 February 2026 Job Description Hampshire Cricket are seeking applications for an HPC registered MSK Physiotherapist for an exciting role within the Science and Medicine Department. This full time 6-month (April-September) fixed term contract will see the successful physiotherapist work closely with the existing Hampshire Cricket medical teams. The successful applicant will need to be adaptable in providing physiotherapy provision across both the men’s professionally contracted and academy squads over this summer’s competitive playing season. Working alongside 4 other MSK physiotherapy practitioners, the role would be ideal for someone with prior experience of working within the elite sports sector (especially cricket) however this is not necessarily an essential prerequisite for someone with appropriate levels of MSK experience. The role will involve working across training and match environments as well as specific rehabilitation settings and you’ll be a valued part of a wider MDT which stretches across both men’s and women’s pathways.

Salary will be in line with experience £20,000 -£35,000 (FTE £40,000 -70,000)

Key Responsibilities

•In combination with our existing physiotherapist’s provide high quality in-season physiotherapy support for first and second team fixtures and training sessions.
•Provide physiotherapy provision for academy training and matches when required.
•Assess and treat all musculoskeletal cricket related injuries attempting to maximise player availability and performance levels throughout the competitive season.
•Lead the design and delivery of rehabilitation of all academy players whilst assisting with any required rehabilitation need within the professionally contracted squad.
•Communicate clearly both internally within our immediate Science and Medicine team as well as to the wider support group including coaches and other key stakeholders.
•Collaborate with other members of the MDT including strength and conditioning coaches, doctors, psychologists, nutritionists and coaches to optimise player support throughout the summer period.
•Work with Lead Physiotherapists, Senior Strength and Conditioning Coaches and the Chief Medical Officer to update and report availability status of players to The Head of Science and Medicine.
•In combination with the rest of the team, assist and conduct physical profiling for all professionally contracted and academy players.
•Be familiar with and develop monitoring and injury prevention systems to best inform player management within the Science and Medicine department and wider coaching group.
•Assist in the effective remote management of players on franchise and international duty in combination with other third-party medical teams.
•Contribute towards departmental emergency care in-season mandatory training.
•Work closely with the coaching staff to supplement player development plans. This requires the ability to thrive within a broad multi-disciplinary team.
•Where necessary, and as directed by the Head of Science and Medicine and Directors of Cricket, provide support across both the men’s and women’s programmes.

Experience and Qualifications

Essential:

•Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy (BSc/MSc)
•Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
•Membership with Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP)
•A focus on Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy
•Evidence in being proactive in continuing professional development
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
•High level of computer literacy
•Employment and academic references
•Clean full UK driving licence

Desirable / Preferable:

•Previous experience of working in professional sports environment (cricket most favourably - and/or understanding of the game of cricket and associated injuries/conditions).

Hours Of Work

The role is predominantly based at Utilita Bowl, with travel to other venues for training or match days, as required.
Working hours are varied and there is an expectation that the role holder can be present for some evenings, weekends and bank holidays to meet the needs of the cricket schedule.
