This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, hands-on maintenance professional looking to step into a supervisory role within a fast-paced environment. Leading a team of overnight technicians, you will play a key role in ensuring facilities remain safe, operational and well-maintained, whilst supporting both planned and reactive maintenance activities. This is very much a working supervisor position, where you will lead by example and work alongside your team to deliver high standards across a diverse estate. The Role As Facilities Night Supervisor, you will oversee overnight maintenance operations, coordinating reactive repairs, planned maintenance and contractor activities while ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance and service delivery. You will act as the senior facilities contact during night shifts, making operational decisions, responding to urgent maintenance issues and supporting the wider business to minimise disruption and maintain a safe environment. Key Responsibilities Supervise and support a team of maintenance technicians during night operations. Carry out a variety of maintenance tasks across residential, commercial and public areas. Coordinate responses to reactive maintenance issues and emergency call-outs. Monitor and manage contractor activities undertaken during overnight periods. Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard. Support planned preventative maintenance programmes. Maintain maintenance records and communicate updates to management teams. Ensure tools, equipment and maintenance stock are maintained and available. Support operational departments with maintenance requirements and project work. Maintain excellent standards of housekeeping throughout all work areas. Typical Maintenance Duties Plumbing repairs, including taps, toilets, sinks and drainage issues. Basic electrical maintenance, lighting replacement and service isolation. Carpentry repairs including doors, locks, shelving and general fixtures. Painting, decorating and general making-good works. Grounds maintenance and external upkeep. Furniture assembly, relocation and replacement. General building maintenance and repair tasks. Health, Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures. Follow COSHH, risk assessment and permit-to-work requirements. Conduct routine safety inspections and identify potential hazards. Support incident response and emergency procedures when required. Ensure safe use of tools, equipment and machinery. Maintain compliance documentation and reporting requirements. About You We are looking for an individual with a broad maintenance background who enjoys problem-solving and leading teams in a fast-moving environment. You will ideally have: Previous experience in a facilities, maintenance or building services environment. Supervisory or team leadership experience. Practical skills across plumbing, carpentry, decorating and general maintenance. Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities. Good knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe systems of work. Experience managing contractors and permit-to-work systems. The ability to prioritise workload and remain calm under pressure. Excellent communication and organisational skills. A flexible and proactive approach to work. Qualifications Desirable qualifications include: NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Plumbing NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Carpentry NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Painting & Decorating Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
