About the role
Herefordshire Community Wellbeing is seeking a passionate Approved Mental Health Professional to join our experienced and supportive AMHP service. Our team values professional autonomy, reflective practice and strong peer support. You’ll work alongside skilled colleagues who understand the complexity of Mental Health Act work and who ensure no one carries difficult decisions alone. We are committed to staff wellbeing, ongoing legal and professional development and creating a service where AMHPs feel valued, confident and supported in their role. This isn’t just another job; it’s a chance to immerse yourself in an incredibly rewarding environment, with a passionate, values-driven team who support each other through the challenges of AMHP practice while maintaining humour, reflection and strong professional integrity.
Our AMHP service plays a central role in safeguarding some of the most vulnerable people in our community and we support practitioners to make thoughtful, legally sound decisions in complex situations. This is a team where your professional judgement and values really matter.
The Role
Herefordshire AMHP team is a small, friendly, experienced and highly supportive team that values collaboration, reflective practice and shared learning. No one carries difficult decisions alone.

We also have a great relationship with the Mental Health teams and Drs, regular supervision and team meetings, a lone working device and absolute commitment to your health and safety. There will be opportunities to work from home on days triaging referrals where you will have a chance to catch up on AMHP reports and a fantastic training offer, all working within the beautiful county of Herefordshire.
We invest in continuous professional development with specialist training and opportunities to develop leadership within the service.
This is a 9-5 post with no requirement to work out of hours, but if you wished to, then you will have opportunity to join our well paid out of hours rota as well.
