A part-time job opportunity has become available within the Macmillan Specialist Colorectal Cancer Nursing team at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. Join our well-established clinical nurse specialist team, supported by a Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist in Colorectal Cancer, in caring for people being diagnosed and treated for colorectal cancer. Your role will be to provide information and support to colorectal cancer patients from the point of diagnosis throughout their surgical and oncological management and living with and beyond cancer into their survivorship. As a valued member of the multidisciplinary team, you will play an important role in promoting the best patient experience possible.

Responsibilities
* Provide specialist, high-quality, expert nursing care and support for patients and their carers with a colorectal cancer diagnosis.
* Deliver evidence-based, individualised patient care according to changing health care needs, including holistic needs assessment (HNA) and responsive care planning.
* Work autonomously and develop collaborative relationships across and within professional boundaries.
* Collaborate to develop patient pathways and be responsible for the continuous review and development of the nursing service.
* Provide expert knowledge and advice in the specialist area, ensuring clinical excellence underpinned by evidence-based practice.
* Work with the Multidisciplinary Team and Cancer Management Team to ensure cancer service compliance with national standards for safety and quality, as assessed through the National Cancer Peer Review Process.

Person Specification
Education/Qualifications Essential
* First level nursing registration
* Post registration qualification appropriate to speciality
* First level degree in related subject or evidence of working towards
* Evidence of continued professional development relevant to clinical area
* Currently registered with NMC
Desirable
* Working towards Masters level qualification
* Advanced communication skills qualification
* Level 2 psychology skills certificate
* Recognised teaching qualification or working towards
Knowledge & Experience Essential
* Relevant post registration experience at band 6 or above in oncology or tumour site related clinical area
* Previous experience in a post involving clinical and managerial responsibilities
* Previous experience of teaching and developing teaching materials
* Demonstrate evidence of highly developed clinical practice
Desirable
* Previous experience of working as a clinical nurse specialist
* Experience of audit and research
* Evidence of advanced communications skills
* Experience of colorectal surgery and running nurse-led clinics
