About Sofa Club

At Sofa Club, we make statements, not just sofas. As one of the UK’s fastest-growing furniture brands, we’re shaking up the industry with bold designs and a relentless focus on customer experience. To keep delivering exceptional products, we’re looking for a Product Quality & Compliance Technologist to join our team. If you’re passionate about quality, detail-driven, and love turning technical standards into real-world results, this one’s for you.

Role Overview

This role is key to ensuring our products don’t just look incredible but meet all relevant safety and compliance standards too. From fire regulations to material testing, you’ll be the go-to for all things quality and compliance.

You’ll work across our supplier base to ensure every new product meets internal quality benchmarks and external regulations. You’ll also support the onboarding of new suppliers, help maintain consistent documentation, and lead the charge on getting our products tested, certified, and market-ready.

A strong relationship with our Customer Experience team is key, you’ll be working closely with them to analyse returns data and non-conformance trends to help improve product performance and reduce future issues.

You’ll also take the lead on training wider teams to boost understanding of quality requirements across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Product Compliance & Legislation

* Ensure all upholstered furniture meets UK regulations including the Furniture & Furnishings (Fire Safety) Regulations 1988.
* Keep on top of changing safety legislation in the UK and international markets.
* Organise testing and certification of products where needed.
* Maintain all technical files, certifications, and declarations of conformity.

Quality Assurance & Control

* Develop and implement internal product quality standards.
* Review product specs, samples, and inspections to catch issues before they reach customers.
* Identify risks early and recommend improvements to avoid quality issues.
* Collaborate with the Customer Experience team to analyse returns data and identify product-related trends or recurring issues.
* Manage non-conformance and warranty reports and work with suppliers to drive corrective actions.

Supplier & Product Onboarding

* Assess new suppliers from a quality and compliance perspective.
* Check their certifications, testing procedures, and quality control systems.
* Work with Product, Merch, and Buying teams to align expectations before production starts.

Process Ownership

* Build compliance frameworks, checklists, and internal tracking systems.
* Act as the “technical conscience” of the business—keeping everyone honest on quality and safety.
* Drive training across teams to boost understanding of quality requirements.

Skills & Experience Required

* Experience in a product quality, technical, or compliance role—ideally in furniture, textiles, or consumer goods.
* Strong understanding of fire safety and quality regulations for upholstered furniture.
* Experience working with UK test houses, safety certification, and compliance documents.
* Meticulous attention to detail.
* Confident communicator who can work cross-functionally and influence suppliers.
* Ability to work closely with Customer Service teams to translate customer feedback into actionable product improvements.
* Knowledge of sustainability and ethical sourcing is a bonus.

What You’ll Get

* Be part of a growing brand with real creative freedom and input.
* Access to a supportive and ambitious team culture.
* Opportunity to grow your career as we scale our in-house comms function.
* Competitive salary
* Lucrative bonus scheme
* 28 days annual leave + bank holidays
* Enhanced family leave
* Health insurance
* Friends and family discount
* Salary sacrifice schemes

Are you a perfect match?

* Ambitious? We have huge plans. There’s never been a better time to join Sofa Club. We are growing fast and need ambitious people to join us for the ride.
* Fun? We work hard and then let our hair down at our office prosecco bar (yes, really!).
* Do-er? Talk is cheap, execution is everything. Be a doer, not a talker.
* Friendly? We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We have a diverse and inclusive culture, everyone gets on well, and we work together as one family.
