Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista/Waitress to join our vibrant team. This role involves delivering exceptional guest services, preparing and serving beverages and food, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in restaurant or café settings is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within the hospitality industry.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
* Take orders from guests accurately and efficiently, ensuring prompt service.
* Serve food items with professionalism and courtesy, assisting guests with menu selections when needed.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the service area, including counters, tables, and equipment.
* Handle cash transactions accurately.
* Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities while providing excellent guest experiences.
* Ensure compliance with food safety standards and health regulations at all times.
* Assist in food preparation tasks as required, supporting kitchen staff when necessary.
* Provide outstanding guest services by addressing questions or concerns promptly and courteously.
* Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
* Knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation techniques is desirable.
* Strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
* Good communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a friendly demeanour.
* Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately.
