Lead Technician / Workshop Controller
1. Location: Rugby
2. Basic: £40,000 - £45,000
3. Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm | 1 in 2 Saturdays 8:30am - 12:30pm
Are you an experienced Vehicle Technician looking to take the next step in your career? Our client, a respected independent, is seeking a Lead Technician to head up their workshop and provide technical expertise across diagnostics, repairs, and MOT testing. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled technician who enjoys solving complex faults and leading by example in a busy workshop environment.

What you’ll be doing:
9. Carrying out advanced diagnostics and fault-finding
10. Completing servicing, repairs, and maintenance to a high standard
11. Performing and overseeing MOT testing
12. Acting as the workshop's lead technical expert
13. Supporting and mentoring other technicians where required
14. Ensuring work is completed efficiently and to manufacturer standards
15. Assisting with complex technical issues and workshop operations
What we’re looking for:
16. Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
17. MOT Tester qualification
18. Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
19. Previous experience in a senior or lead technician position advantageous
20. Main dealer experience beneficial
21. A technician with stronger technical ability than the day-to-day workshop management team
22. Full UK driving licence
