About the role
As a Functional Assessor you will work autonomously to assess the cases of claimants who are applying for the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) benefit, as part of the DWP Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS). The funding helps support individuals to live as much of an independent life as possible. You will be completing assessments with individuals who have a broad range of health conditions, and you may conduct some assessments remotely.
An in-depth training programme is provided which is fully paid for, and this role counts towards your clinical hours to help you maintain your registration.

Responsibilities
* Use your clinical experience to work with people who have diverse health conditions to understand how their challenges and the ways their disability affects daily life.
* Work within an office-style environment and at home to complete detailed, meaningful, and respectful assessments over the telephone, video, or face-to-face.
* Interpret medical evidence and collect findings into a comprehensive report to support decision-making by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
Requirements
* We can only accept applications from Occupational Therapists for this vacancy.
* HCPC registration is required.
* You must have at least 1 year of broad post-registration experience; UK experience is essential.
* Proactive, keen to learn and receptive to feedback.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to work autonomously and IT competency is essential.
