As a leader in the aerospace industry, we have a new and exciting opening for a Production Manager to be responsible for the Tactical decision making and daily running of our Production department. The Production Manager is responsible and manages a team of intermediate or experienced professionals in Manufacturing Operations. The successful candidate will establish objectives and guidelines for managing and monitoring cell performance and productivity, promote an environment that challenges the existing process and strives for excellence through continuous improvement and flexibility. They will also be accountable for delivering Safety (S), Quality (Q), Delivery (D), Cost (C, Lean (L)/People (P) targets across the department, introducing new products and processes and unleashing the departments potential.

What you will do:

1. Responsible for the day-to-day production and delivery process across the department, ensuring key business deliverables are met and exceeded, including OTD, productivity, sales, inventory controls & budget adherence.
2. Install and support the ‘Tier’ process into the Wolverhampton Site (Tier 1, 2, and 3) using SQDCP principles.
3. Directs cost reduction and process improvements to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness.
4. Directs scheduling to meet production standards.
5. Executing the sequencing of work, such as build and delivery to optimise productivity.
6. Manage operational budgets to promote profitability and ensure the Company has all the resources required to meet its objectives within agreed financial parameters.
7. To support & lead the development of a continuous improvement culture through CORE, Develop and have ownership for the site Operations transformation plan (5yr)
8. Mentor, coach and develop the capabilities of the leaders in your team to develop a strong Operations Management team.
9. Manage the payroll/overtime for the department(s).
10. Drive Productivity using Lean tools such as 5S, standardization, visual management.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

12. Solid experience (5 years min) of managing teams withing a production environment – the ability to balance conflicting output requirements under pressure.
13. Degree qualification in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering is highly desirable.
14. Chartered / Incorporated Engineer.
15. Track record of delivering a world class operation.
16. Proven track record with a successful portfolio of achievements.
17. Competent in Operations, Engineering, EHS, Quality and HR class leading practices.
18. Confident and professional personality, experienced with direct customer interface.
