Responsibilities:
Engineering
1. Join a diverse engineering organisation and contribute to growing our engineering capabilities across Software, and Platform Engineering.
2. Develop full-stack solutions, building highly scalable distributed solutions that enable positive user experiences and measurable business growth.
3. Implement and support modern digital products that are technologically sound, avoid technical debt, guarantee compliance, and enable the required business outcome.
4. Collaborate across engineering teams to bring alignment to the R&D application space.
5. Look for continuous improvement opportunities in our core ecosystem identifying new ways to enhance application team and developer experience.
6. Embed security, privacy, data protection and quality assurance across all digital solutions.
7. Build and run responsibility across the products you work on balancing the quality and stability of the product with new feature enhancements.
8. Partner with the Product Managers to establish a working backlog including assisting in sizing of items and helping design engineering approaches to meet application of feature requirements.
9. Opportunity to participate in rotations to other functions or teams within Engineering to broaden your skillsets.
10. Play a role in our Engineering community helping to share good practice, collaborate and problem solve with Engineers across the organisation.
Product Team
11. You will join our Research and Development team, building custom solutions to facilitate in all aspects of R&D – from drug discovery to clinical studies.
12. You will be working with both front-end technologies and back-end technologies and integration with 3rd party SaaS solutions.
13. Supporting and driving a number of capabilities that support our development processes this includes configuration of SaaS capabilities as well as building and supporting custom built solutions.
14. Shape engineering expectations against the product partnering with fellow tech leads or Principal Engineers in software engineering to ensure the product adopts Elanco standards.
15. Upskill and coach engineers on the product to build a highly competent engineering unit.
Innovation
16. Look for opportunities to partner internally and externally using hackathon and other formats to engage, learn and achieve great outcomes for Elanco IT.
17. Use modern product approaches to influence and shape the business through partnership with product management and digital product delivery utilising modern product approaches such as rapid prototyping and embedding a ‘show them, don’t tell them’ culture.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
Experience in some of the following areas essential:
18. 5 + years of experience working with modern application architecture methodologies
19. 5 + years of experience working with Cloud Native design patterns, with a preference towards Microsoft Azure / Google Cloud.
20. 5 + years of experience designing and delivering digital solutions following a product-mindset and a variety of delivery methodologies ( Agile, CCPM, etc.).
21. 5 + years of experience working within a “DevSecOps” culture, including modern software development practices, covering Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), Test-Driven Development (TDD), etc.
22. Familiarity or experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (, Terraform).
23. Experience with software deployment capabilities including Kubernetes.
24. Experience in a Platform Engineering team beneficial.
25. Operational experience having supported and iterated on custom built applications
26. Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript, React, and ;
27. Experience with Python or other similar languages.
28. Understanding of data systems DataBricks, PowerBI.
29. Passion for simplicity and great Developer Experience.
30. Experience scaling an “API-Ecosystem”, designing, and implementing “API-First” integration patterns.
31. Experience supporting digital platforms, including Integrations, Release Management, Regression Testing, Integrations, Data Obfuscation, etc.
32. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
33. Experience defining and implementing large-scale, transformative digital solutions.
34. Demonstrated influence and communication skills across all levels of IT and third parties.
35. Experience working in complex, diverse landscapes (business, technology, regulatory, partners, providers, geographies, etc.).
36. Strong organizational and communications skills with multiple examples of being able to convey complex technical topics, that resulted in a definitive direction.
37. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology.
