About the Role
We’re looking for a passionate and skilled Makaton Tutor to join our growing Tuition Team dedicated to empowering individuals with communication needs. Whether your experience is supporting children, adults, families, or professionals, your expertise will help unlock new ways to connect, learn, and thrive.
Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging Makaton sessions tailored to the individual needs of the student
* Create accessible learning materials and resources
* Support learners with varying abilities, including those with autism, Down’s syndrome, and speech and language difficulties
* Collaborate with families, carers, and professionals to reinforce learning
* Stay up to date with Makaton developments and best practices
Requirements
* Certified Makaton Tutor
* Experience working in education, therapy, or support settings
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for inclusive communication
* Ability to adapt teaching styles to suit diverse learners
Desirable
* Experience delivering training to professionals or organisations
* Knowledge of other communication systems (e.g., PECS, BSL)
* Familiarity with digital tools for remote learning
