We are seeking a Finance Director to play a critical leadership role in shaping the future of Edinburgh Instruments. Reporting to the CEO and operating within a matrix structure alongside Group Finance, this role will be based primarily on-site in Livingston.
The opportunity You will be a key member of the Senior Management Team, providing strategic direction and financial leadership across the organisation.
Own forecasting, budgeting, cash flow, controls, audit, and compliance.
Act as a key business partner to manufacturing and R&D.
Provide insight to drive margin improvement and cost optimisation.
Manage relationships with Techcomp Group leadership.
Lead IT, supporting all European sites.
What we’re looking for Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CA, CPA or equivalent).
Demonstrated leadership of a finance function within a manufacturing‑led or similarly complex environment.
Strong capability in management accounting, financial accounting, statutory reporting, and audit coordination.
Experience influencing senior leaders and contributing to decision‑making at SMT level.
Highly competent in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
Experience managing relationships with external professional advisors.
Strong business partnering skills with the ability to translate financial insight into strategic and operational actions.
Working within a global matrix structure or international Group environment.
Familiarity with manufacturing cost structures, Bills of Material (BOM), and standard costing.
Experience leading or overseeing IT teams or delivering technology‑related improvement projects.
Proficiency with Power BI, dashboards, KPIs, and modern analytics/AI‑driven tools.
Mandarin or Cantonese language ability to support collaboration with Group stakeholders.

We are looking for a skilled and well-rounded individual, preferably with experience of foreign languages but this not mandatory.
