Role details:
Our client, a leading provider in defence and security technology, is currently seeking a Configuration and Data Management Engineer (CDME) to join their team on a contract basis. This role is primarily remote, with occasional travel required near Reading. The successful candidate will work within the TTS Mission Area, supporting a training programme with the Royal Navy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensuring that all required contract data is properly identified, scheduled, marked, approved, inspected, submitted, and accepted.
* Administering the project's Configuration Change Control Board (CCCB).
* Supporting ongoing data management processes, including CMMI, IPDP, and DM internal audit gate review activities.
* Applying and administering configuration planning.
* Ensuring configuration identification, change management, verification, and audits in compliance with standards.
* Managing digital files and work products, including those imported from the Authority and suppliers.
* Championing and fostering a culture of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and continuous improvement.
* Ensuring that all programme-related information is effectively stored and controlled at the contract's close-out.
* Any other duties required to meet the needs of the programme.
Job Requirements:
* Experience with configuration and data management systems, such as Windchill.
* Understanding of records management.
* Knowledge of CMDM processes and artefacts.
* General awareness of the five configuration management pillars.
* Understanding the importance of handling data and documents according to the Government Security Classification Policy (GSCP).
* Experience with SharePoint and/or Kahootz.
About You:
You should have a solid understanding of configuration and data management principles ideally within the defence sector. You are detail-oriented, methodical, and capable of working independently while also contributing to a broader team effort. Your expertise will play a vital role in ensuring that documentation and data control processes meet rigorous standards.
