As a Senior IT Service Manager, you are responsible for ensuring value and quality is achieved for the end-to-end technology solution, support service and/or user experience of a digital Product/Service. You are responsible for defining and managing service level agreements (SLAs) and operational level agreements (OLAs) to deliver to agreed performance targets in a cost effective and timely manner across all relevant functions. You drive analysis and resolution of complex issues, enlisting support and escalating where appropriate to relevant IT service functions. You own stakeholder relationships and make sure that Products and Services are performing as expected. You'll be responsible for supporting products/services 24x7 and be expected to be on call on a rota basis. You'll be required to manage staff within the Service Management capability. In addition, you will undertake standard service management duties including reporting, incident management, problem management, service level agreement (SLA) and operational level agreement (OLA) management and may need to provide on call support. This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account. Salary Information New entrants to the Civil Service will join on band minimum. Existing Civil Servants who secure a new role on lateral transfer will maintain their current salary. Existing Civil Servants who gain promotion will either move to the bottom of the grade pay scale or get a 10% increase to their current salary whichever would be the greater. This statement should be used to provide examples of how you meet the essential criteria below: Previous experience of IT service management, using ITIL methodology or framework. Leadership skills and experience in managing a team to deliver successful outcomes. Demonstrable history of cost effective and customer focused management of Digital Products and Services, understanding how service issues impact users and implementing changes where necessary. Experience of communicating to different stakeholders and ability to show the status and performance of services in various formats. Demonstrable history of making and justifying decisions to maintain and improve the services offered. 4. Technical statement (up to 250 words). The following statement is aligned to the required technical skill of Service Management. Demonstrable experience of supporting API, Event and File Transfer based products. Including undertaking diagnostic investigations, service restoration and root cause analysis. The sift panel will use the information in your employment history, personal statement, and technical statement to assess your experience, skills and knowledge.
