Overview
SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs are required in West Sussex. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support. We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN / SEND, SEMH, and other needs such as MLD and SLD. We are looking for SEN / SEND tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in West Sussex. Targeted Provision aims to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK, with a team around the child and support from SEN / SEND Support Specialists.
This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who want to work 1:1 with children and young people with a variety of learning needs in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner to raise engagement and improve educational journeys.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role
* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Work with young people referred by local authorities and schools, providing support in their educational and social-emotional journey
* Deliver flexible and holistic trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities
* Plan each teaching / tutoring / mentoring session
* Provide holistic and engaging sessions that meet needs and progress educational and social-emotional development
* Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress
SEN / SEND Tutor requirements
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or other Additional Educational Needs
* Experience and understanding of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (we can help obtain this at cost if needed)
* Two professional references
* UK-based with the right to work in the UK, even for remote/online assignments
It is a strict requirement that you can promote health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and follow safeguarding policies at all times.
Employment Status
* This position involves engaging with us as a Worker to provide short-term engagements as they arise
* Contract for service with PAYE payment
* No guaranteed hours or expenses coverage
* Our insurance covers the work you do for us
* This is not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
