We are working closely with Birmingham Children's Trust to assist with the appointment of a Family Support Worker, on a 1.5-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £15.34- £19.96 per hour

Summary:

The Family Support Worker – Grade 4 plays a vital role in supporting children, young people, and families to achieve positive outcomes and improve wellbeing. Working within a busy Family Help Team, the post holder will undertake assessments, provide direct interventions, and work collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard and support vulnerable children and families. The role includes completing assessments under Section 17 of the Children Act 1989, delivering targeted support plans, promoting early intervention, and helping families build resilience and independence. The successful candidate will contribute to Birmingham Children's Trust's commitment to delivering high-quality services for children and families across the community.

Responsibilities:

* Provide practical and emotional support to children, young people, and families experiencing social, emotional, behavioural, or safeguarding concerns.
* Support children and families to access community services, education, healthcare, housing, and other support agencies.
* Identify safeguarding concerns and follow child protection procedures in line with legislation and organisational policy.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection requirements.
* Maintain professional boundaries and work in accordance with policies, procedures, and professional standards.

Essentials:

* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Health & Social Care, Children & Young People, Family Support, or a related field desirable.
* Previous experience working with children, young people, and families within social care, education, health, youth work, or community settings.
* Experience working within safeguarding or early help services advantageous.
* Relevant safeguarding or child protection training advantageous.

* You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
* You should have right to work in U.K
* This role requires an Enhanced DBS
