About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with teachers and therapists to support pupils aged 11-19 with a range of additional needs such as autism, learning difficulties, and communication challenges.
You’ll play a vital role in helping pupils develop their learning, confidence, and independence — celebrating their progress every step of the way.
What You’ll Do
 * 
 Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with special educational needs.
 * 
 Assist teachers in adapting lessons and learning materials to meet individual needs.
 * 
 Support pupils with personal care, social skills, and emotional wellbeing.
 * 
 Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
 * 
 Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for each child.
What We’re Looking For
 * 
 Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school or care setting preferred).
 * 
 A patient, empathetic, and encouraging approach.
 * 
 Strong communication and teamwork skills.
 * 
 A willingness to learn and undertake relevant training (e.g. Team Teach, Makaton, or first aid).
 * 
 Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths; a Level 3 qualification in childcare or learning support is desirable
