Job Description
We’re hiring a Senior Electronics Design Engineer to support complex embedded and hardware systems within high-integrity defence programmes. You’ll be working on challenging, long‑lifecycle projects involving critical electronic designs, simulation, and integration in marine defence environments.
You’ll be responsible for the full development lifecycle, from schematic capture to PCB layout and system validation, working closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable and compliant designs.
What you’ll be doing
* Design analog, digital, and mixed‑signal circuits
* Create schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer
* Simulate circuits using LTspice for performance and compliance analysis
* Integrate Microchip microcontrollers and support FPGA‑based solutions
* Validate and debug boards at prototype and system level
* Conduct EMC testing
* Collaborate with systems, mechanical, and layout engineers
* Support structured documentation and peer reviews
Qualifications
What we’re looking for
* 10+ years’ experience in electronics design or embedded hardware engineering
* Proficiency in Altium Designer and LTspice
* Experience with microcontrollers (Microchip) and FPGA development
* Background in high‑integrity environments such as defence, aerospace, or marine
* Understanding of mission‑critical hardware development standards
* Must be eligible for SC clearance – UKEO SC or prior defence projects preferred
