About the role
Balfour Beatty are currently looking for a Security Manager to join our UKCS - Regional Buildings team based in Derby
Within this role you'll establish, maintain and develop the security function responsible for implementing the project security strategy whilst also working alongside the client Security Team to implement the agreed Security Policies and create a Security Management Plan
What you'll be doing
As a Security Manager you'll:
1. Be the SPOC for law enforcement
2. Develop and lead on the implementation of new security strategies, policies and practical measures to effectively prevent and deter asset loss
3. Support the project by providing subject matter expertise
4. Conduct thorough and robust investigations where asset loss has occurred and identify lessons learnt in order to implement future improvement
5. Identify and realise opportunities to conduct discreet investigations and evidence gathering where it is appropriate to do so
6. Recognise the importance of training and educating employees to preventincidents of asset loss
7. Create and deliver security training and awareness
8. Provide expert knowledge on security matters within the Defence sector
9. Create and review security polices
10. Conduct security site reviews and audits of project locartions and supply chain to ensure compliance with the Security Management Plan and client specific security requirements
11. Set investigative prioroties and lines of enquires for investigations pertaining to the project
12. Reinforce the Balfour Beatty Code of Conduct and support the overall Business Integrity programme
13. Lead, develop and coach individuals to build high performing teams and create a pipeline of talent
Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following essential qualities/experiences:
14. Significant experience of operational security management including the identification and mitigation of risk
15. Experience in providing solutions by utilising latest technologies and up to date risk analysis to deliver results which address risk and the needs of the organisation in a cost effective manner
16. Strong knowledge and experience of incident response and investigation processes
17. The ability to lead investigations both from a civil and criminal standard and to demonstrate experience of leading such investigations in a sensitive and commercial environment
18. Sound analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to make timely and balanced decisions, which consider the wider strategic picture and implications for the organisation
19. Excellent negotiating and influencing skills demonstrated by the ability to use a range of different approaches, to gain acceptance of proposals, plans and decisions and to demonstrate personal credibility to the business
20. Sound personal integrity and a strong commitment to the principles set out in the Balfour Beatty Code of Conduct
21. Good organisation and planning skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining quality and high standards
22. Proven experience of delivering training in a pro-active and easily understood manner
23. Proven experience of working as part of, and also leading, a team
24. Experience in managing projects
25. The ability and willingness to travel throughout the UK
26. Proficient in the use of IT and data management systems in order to maximise data analysis and to produce management dashboard reports
27. Have or be able to gain a high level UK security clearance
28. Working knowledge of the Government Security Classification and document handling procedures at those different levels
