Our Financial Services Client is looking for a IT Director, Digital Services Platform for the development, deployment, and support of a new, cutting-edge digital banking platform.
This is Permanent role,% Remote with once a quarter in office, Vancouver, BC preferred, open to BC, Ontario candidates.
Must Have:
1. 10+ years of experience in Digital banking, with a focus on IT platform development and deployment and 5+ years of experience within IT Leadership/Director role
2. Experience with digital channels, payments, fraud, credit cards, and compliance-related technology.
3. Proven experience managing complex vendor relationships and contracts.
4. Strong technical background with a deep understanding of digital banking technologies, cybersecurity, and system integration.
5. Experience launching and supporting client facing systems
6. Demonstrated ability to lead and build high-performing teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
7. Experience working in Agile environments, with a solid understanding of Agile principles and practices.
8. Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
9. Demonstrated ability to bring diverse stakeholders together and act as the connective tissue across teams and vendors
10. Strong depth in at least one anchor domain (digital or payments), paired with curiosity and capability to expand into adjacent areas
11. Proven adaptability, learning mindset, and comfort operating in broad, ambiguous roles
12. Candidates from large financial institutions are viable only if they can demonstrate breadth, initiative, and learning beyond narrow scopes
Responsibilities:
1. Platform Development and Deployment:
13. Lead the stand-up and deployment of a new digital banking platform from concept through to production.
14. Oversee the architecture, design, and implementation of the platform, ensuring it meets high standards of reliability, security, and user experience.
15. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with existing systems and processes.
2. Vendor and Partner Management:
16. Manage a complex network of vendors and service providers, ensuring that all partnerships contribute to the successful delivery and operation of the digital platform.
17. Negotiate contracts, define service level agreements (SLAs), and maintain strong relationships with all external partners.
18. Monitor vendor performance and delivery ensuring compliance with standards and policies.
3. Team Leadership and Development:
19. Build and lead a high-performing team of engineers, developers, and support staff dedicated to the digital banking platform.
20. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
21. Provide mentorship, training, and career development opportunities to team members.
4. Production Support:
22. Establish and oversee production support processes for the digital platform, ensuring maximum uptime and rapid resolution of issues.
23. Implement monitoring and incident management tools to proactively identify and address potential problems.
24. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and resolution of support issues.
25. Partnerships with Business Leaders:
26. Build and maintain strong partnerships with business leaders across to ensure alignment of the digital banking platform with organizational goals and member needs.
27. Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units, facilitating clear communication and mutual understanding.
28. Collaborate with business leaders to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within the digital banking space.
