Job Description
As a Senior Procurement Manager - Indirect Category Spend ( generalist category manager) - FMCG;
3. Provide end to end procurement solutions to key stakeholders, advising of sourcing, contracts and supplier management.
4. Develop and implement category and sourcing plans in collaboration with stakeholders.
5. Drive cost reduction and value creation through negotiation, market intelligence, and supplier partnerships.
6. Lead strategic sourcing initiatives and manage all aspects of spend throughout the lifecycle.
7. Utilise ERP systems and analytical tools to support category planning and reporting.
8. Apply advanced procurement techniques (e-auctions, TCO analysis, should-cost modelling).
9. Build strong supplier relationships to foster innovation and performance improvement.
10. Ensure compliance with ethical, technical, and sustainability standards (e.g., SEDEX, BRC).
11. Manage contracts professionally and accurately, maintaining cost conditions and governance.
12. Support risk mitigation and working capital reduction across allocated categories.
13. Act as a trusted partner and subject matter expert for stakeholders across the business.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Procurement Manager - Indirect Category Manager should have:
14. A proven track record working as a Category Manager for a manufacturer
15. Previously managed a small team
16. Proven expertise in procurement and supply chain management within the FMCG industry or manufacturing business
17. Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
18. Experience in supplier relationship management and performance evaluation.
19. Solid understanding of market trends and procurement best practices.
20. Ability to analyse data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
21. Exceptional organisational and leadership abilities.
22. Proficiency in relevant procurement software and tools.
23. Educational qualifications in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field.
