Contract: Temporary (3 months)
Hours: Full-time, 36 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Pay: £22.48 per hour (PAYE) / £29.78 per hour (Umbrella)
We are currently recruiting on behalf of Wandsworth Council for a Project Coordinator to lead and coordinate the Smokefree Generation Project. This exciting role plays a key part in addressing health inequalities and promoting healthier lifestyles across the borough through a mobile outreach approach.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and deliver a monthly schedule of "Come and Have a Chat" health outreach events using the public health bus.
Ensure coverage across the borough, focusing on areas with the greatest health needs and inequalities.
Coordinate a range of health and wellbeing interventions, including clinical services like vaccinations, stop smoking support, NHS Health Checks, blood pressure checks, diabetes prevention, and healthy lifestyle advice.
Support and align with national and local health campaigns, as well as the Council's Parks and Leisure strategies.
Use data and local intelligence to guide planning, targeting communities with poor access to health services or higher levels of deprivation.
Work in partnership with health and community organisations, including the NHS and Integrated Care System (ICS), to deliver joined-up outreach services.
Manage logistics such as event scheduling, parking, team coordination (including the driver), and on-the-day operations.
Create and distribute promotional materials to engage residents, working with communications teams on press releases, social media, newsletters, and other channels.
Monitor and evaluate the impact of outreach activities, collect user feedback and data on participation and service delivery.
Produce regular reports with insights, outcomes, and recommendations to improve future campaigns.
Support planning for a new electric vehicle, working with internal teams to ensure readiness for its integration into the health bus programme.Skills/Knowledge Required:
Good knowledge of public health and health promotion principles and approaches
Good knowledge of data management, GDPR, health and safety and risk mitigation
Good experience delivering effective health promotion campaigns
Good experience using data and intelligence to inform and improve health interventions
Good experience coordinating projects achieving milestones and deadlines
Good application of Microsoft tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and MS Teams
