Job Description:
Direct Medics Healthcare Recruitment is seeking a compassionate and skilled Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Children’s Therapy Services in Leyland (Lancashire). This is an exciting opportunity to work with a community-based caseload of children with motor coordination difficulties (diagnosis of DCD, ASD, ADHD, co-morbidities), generally aged 5 to teenage years.
The contract is initially up to 3 months, with full-time hours required (Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 16:30). Salary ranges from £37,338 to £44,962 per year, pro-rata.
In this role, you will:
* Conduct clinic, school, and home visits.
* Manage a varied community caseload (MSK, neuromuscular, developmental, coordination difficulties), including children with rheumatology issues affecting hand function, typically aged 3 to 4 years, and children with challenging behaviors, focusing on environmental adaptations for safety.
* Be familiar with specific assessments such as initial assessment forms, risk assessments, BOT, DASH, VMI, and clinical observations.
* Engage in triage conversations with families regarding the appropriateness and timing of intervention.
* Collaborate with the Team Coordinator and Clinical Lead.
* Collect equipment and complete face-to-face inductions.
Requirements
* Professional Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
* Current HCPC registration
* Evidence of ongoing professional development
* Recent relevant postgraduate experience in children's community services, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of the field
* Full UK driver’s license and access to a car
* Right to work in the UK
