The job itself
Howden Junior School are looking for an individual who is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of young people to join our friendly and dedicated team, providing in-classsupport for a pupil with High - Level Special Educational Needs.
The working hours are from 8:30am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday during the school term. Your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. This role is fixed-term until 31st August 2026.
Please note, there aretwo vacanciesavailable for this role. This role will commence September 2025.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities associated with this role include:
Facilitating the individual pupil's physical, emotional and educational development, by
* clarifying and explaining instructions;
* ensuring the pupil is able to use equipment and materials provided; Including, moving and handling to meet a child's individual needs.
* assisting in identified areas, e.g. language, behaviour, reading, spelling, numeracy, handwriting/presentation, the use of ICT, social skills and EAL
* helping pupils to concentrate on, and finish work set;
* meeting the physical and personal care needs of pupils as required, whilst encouraging independence where appropriate;
* liaising with the class teacher and SENCO about individual needs
* developing appropriate resources to support the pupil(s)
