We're looking for a Lead Magento Developer to head up our website development function, driving both our Magento backend and Hyvä frontend projects. This is a senior leadership role where you'll take ownership of architecture, technical standards, and code quality, while guiding a talented team of developers to deliver high-performance E-Commerce solutions at scale.
As the bridge between business stakeholders, design, and engineering, you'll ensure our websites are robust, scalable, and future-proof. You'll bring strong technical expertise, a proactive problem-solving mindset, and excellent communication skills, with the ability to spot issues before they arise and keep projects moving forward.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
* Lead the Magento development team, providing mentorship, coaching, and technical guidance to drive delivery excellence
* Own the full development lifecycle across Magento backend and Hyvä frontend, ensuring performance, scalability, and resilience
* Define and maintain coding standards, architectural best practices, and development processes across the team
* Act as the bridge between business, design, and engineering, translating requirements into scalable technical solutions
* Proactively identify risks, performance bottlenecks, and technical debt before they become business issues
* Collaborate with Product, QA, Design, and DevOps to deliver roadmap initiatives and business-critical features
* Manage resources effectively, including recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations
* Communicate technical decisions and project progress clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
* Proven leadership experience in Magento 2 development, with the ability to manage teams, set best practices, and mentor developers
* Strong technical expertise in Magento backend (custom modules, APIs, integrations, caching, performance optimisation)
* Hands-on experience with Hyvä Themes, TailwindCSS, and, with a performance-first approach
* Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, automated testing, and modern DevOps practices
* Strong problem-solving ability with a balance of technical depth and strategic vision
* Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate across teams and engage with non-technical stakeholders
* Experience with multi-store, high-traffic, and international e-commerce environments
* Magento 2 certification and exposure to Adobe Commerce, headless commerce, or large-scale e-commerce (desirable)
