Management Accountant
Huddersfield (HD7)
£50,000.00 - £60,000.00 + £5,000.00 annual bonus
Working 4 or 5 days per week with the option of 1 day at home if required
Hours of Work: start and finish times can be discussed, but typically 8:00 am/8:30 am to 5:00 pm/5:30 pm
About the Company:
Our client is a very well-established, family-run business that has been in operation for almost 40 years; starting initially in Huddersfield and then expanding throughout Yorkshire to Sheffield, Leeds, Knaresborough, and Bradford. They have an excellent reputation within their industry and are the largest independently owned car, van, minibus and truck rental company in the region, with over 2,000 vehicles in their fleet. Their core business is supplying and maintaining vehicle fleets on long, short and flexible-term hire, to companies across the Yorkshire region.
Experience & Skills Required:
CIMA or ACCA Qualified
Motor industry would be advantageous, but not essential
Experience of preparing monthly Management Accounts, including balance sheet, income and expenditure and trial balance
Experience presenting financial and management information, both analytic data and reports
Ability to supervise and take accountability for the effective running of a finance function in excess of 2 million T/O per month
Experience of budget preparation, setting and monitoring and financial forecasting
Ability to implement and monitor highly effective and efficient financial controls
Experience of liaising with auditors, banks, pension and external funding providers and other professional advisors
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
•Preparation of Management Accounts, monthly and annually
•Banking Reconciliation
•Overseeing the production of the company’s annual financial statements and reports
•Financial forecasting including the development of financial budgets
•Monitoring and reporting on cash-flow and working capital
•Preparation of annual budgets including income and expenditure
•Providing high-level analysis and forecasting when required
•Monitoring and maintaining company’s fixed asset register
•Monitoring and updating the costings spreadsheet
•Dealing with stock-takes and allocating invoices
•Overseeing and ensuring the accurate maintenance of the sales, and purchase ledger, and credit control
•Managing of company payroll
•Accurate and timely submission of statutory payments including VAT, PAYE, NIC, P11D and year-end reports
•Ensure the company is compliant with all other legal and statutory duties such as Minimum Wage and Auto-Enrolment, and administration of company pension schemes
•Managing the vehicle asset register, depreciation, HP and lease reconciliations
•Liaising with internal and external bodies regularly to ensure timely and concise communication-flow
