Job Description:
MCS Group is seeking a proactive and skilled Environmental & Facilities Engineer to support the management and maintenance of onsite facilities and services for a leading manufacturing company in the Greater Belfast area.
This role involves working across plant infrastructure, environmental systems, and site services to deliver improvements in compliance, cost efficiency, and environmental impact.
Responsibilities include:
* Ensuring all plant and facility systems comply with relevant legislation and industry standards.
* Managing service contracts for water, compressors, forklifts, cranes, heating, and waste management.
* Developing and maintaining environmental databases and reporting systems.
* Leading internal environmental audits and supporting external compliance activities (e.g., ISO 14001, PPC).
* Driving initiatives to reduce energy use, waste, and overall environmental footprint.
* Coordinating with suppliers for equipment and service procurement.
* Preparing technical specifications, reviewing tenders, and presenting capital proposals to senior management.
* Liaising with regulatory bodies for audits, permits, and funding opportunities.
* Identifying and implementing cost-saving projects.
* Conducting risk and compliance assessments across environmental and facilities operations.
Qualifications include a degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field, with strong knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance frameworks such as ISO 14001 and PPC.
