Crisis Intervention Practitioner
Band 7 Crisis Intervention Practitioners are sought for the Mindworks Crisis Intervention Service in Surrey.
We provide a 7‑day‑a‑week service, offering discovery conversations to children, young people and families presenting with emotional and mental health crisis locally and in acute hospitals. Operational hours are 9am–5pm Monday to Sunday, including bank holidays. Weekend and bank holiday shifts are expected.
Responsibilities
Lead and support assessment, risk and care planning with children and young people (CYPS), their families or carers, and acute staff to safely facilitate discharge and plan follow‑up community care. Support junior staff through supervision and training, maintain KPIs, collect data to support service growth and development, and engage in structured career progression with training in Crisis Intervention with young people, DBT skills, and an opportunity to join CYPIAPT.
Qualifications
* Nursing qualification
* Valid UK driving licence and access to a car for work purposes
Experience
* At least 3 years post‑qualifying experience, including 1 year as a Band 6 in community
* Experience working with CYP with mental health needs in community crisis setting
* Experience in mental health, risk assessments, crisis and contingency planning, and use of outcome measures
* Working with other agencies and as part of a multi‑disciplinary team
* Good understanding of family functioning and safeguarding procedures
Golden Hello
We offer a £3,000 (pro rata) Golden Hello payment in three instalments for eligible external candidates.
Location
2 × Full‑time positions at Gatton Place, Redhill.
Salary
£51,657 to £58,785 a year incl 5% Fringe HCAS, pa, pro rata.
