Job Title: Water Resource Planner
Location: Falmer (Hybrid Working)

Job Overview
Are you passionate about the environment and ready to make a meaningful impact on the future of water resources? We’re looking for a Water Resource Planner to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract, supporting the development of our long-term water strategy and drought resilience planning.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with an environmental or water resource management background who thrives on writing technical documents and contributing to strategic planning that directly affects our customers and communities.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Supporting the development of our 50-year Water Resource Management Plan and 5-year Drought Plan.
2. Researching and analysing future water supply needs, availability, and cost-effective management options.
3. Interpreting regulatory requirements, customer insights, and stakeholder feedback to inform planning.
4. Drafting business cases for regulatory submissions and funding proposals.
5. Preparing and presenting materials for internal and external audits.
6. Conducting security of supply assessments in collaboration with compliance and operations teams.
7. Representing the company in external meetings, forums, and workshops with regulators and industry partners.

Package
This role will be full time Monday to Friday 37 hours a week.
Southern Water operate a hybrid approach to working between our Falmer office and home.
