JOB DESCRIPTION
A well-established logistics and freight business in Basildon is seeking a hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to support its growing operations. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in warehouse management who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys leading from the front. Youll be working with a close-knit team where attention to detail, safety, and accountability are core to the company culture.
REQUIREMENTS
* Full UK driving licence (required for in-house vehicle shunter training; HGV not needed)
* Valid Counterbalance FLT licence (minimum kg); Flexi FLT is a plus
* Clean DBS check required prior to employment
* Proof of right to work in the UK
* UK nationals: passport or birth certificate + NI proof
* Non-UK nationals: current immigration status (no sponsorship available)
* 5 years of employment history (no gaps preferred)
* Must complete basic arithmetic, spelling, and attention-to-detail assessments at interview
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
* Overseeing warehouse operations, ensuring all freight is handled safely and securely
* Supervising a team of operatives and maintaining adherence to company procedures
* Managing loading and unloading of containers with attention to groupage logistics
* Ensuring cargo is properly documented and any damages or shortages are reported
* Maintaining forklift equipment, completing daily/weekly checks, and ensuring warehouse cleanliness
* Participating in alternating shift coverage:
* Early: 07:00-15:30
* Mid: 09:00-17:30
* Late: 11:30-20:00
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
* At least 4 years of warehouse experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory role
* A stable employment history; reliability matters in this secure role
* Strong attention to detail; this is absolutely essential
* Experience with container loading/unloading and groupage
