Overview
Registered Nurse managing and delivering care to a defined caseload / group of clients / patients; responsible for delivering / ensuring the application of the framework of the Nursing Process and use of case management as appropriate, to ensure a high standard of quality client / patient care, working in partnership with other disciplines and agencies. The charge nurse has delegated responsibility for the appraisal, management and clinical supervision of Registered Nurses, junior practitioners and clinical support workers in provision of care and treatment within a defined clinical service, under the management and leadership of the team leader / senior charge nurse or practitioner.
Responsibilities
* Deliver care to a defined caseload / group of clients / patients in line with the Nursing Process and case management where appropriate.
* Provide clinical supervision, appraisal and leadership for Registered Nurses, junior practitioners and clinical support workers within a defined clinical service.
* Work in partnership with other disciplines and agencies to ensure high-quality client/patient care.
What we require you to bring (Qualifications)
* Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration.
* Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level.
* Post graduate expertise within specialty / area of practice demonstrating breadth of knowledge to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
* Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the specialty / area of practice.
* Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures in the specialty/area of practice to deliver leadership within the area.
* Leadership skills to enable day-to-day management of service delivery.
* Continuous Professional Development in area of specialty including study days/courses/postgraduate qualification.
* Excellent team-working/leadership skills with the ability to motivate others and work on own initiative.
* Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Effective time management skills.
* Working knowledge of basic information technology.
* Flexible working required.
* A full, valid UK/EU/EEA drivers licence.
Contract, Location and Working Pattern
Contract type: Permanent | Part Time | 20 hours per week. Please note this is a part-time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
Location and Working Pattern: This role will be based in Prisoner Healthcare within HMP Shotts. The working pattern for this role is 5 days over 7. Applicants shortlisted for interview may be considered for similar vacancies in alternative locations.
